Naturopathy is a wholistic approach to health whereby the practitioner uses a range of non-invasive diagnostic techniques to assess the causative factors of a client’s medical condition.
This is done by assessing the client’s diet and lifestyle, using diagnostic techniques such as iridology and educating the client on their health condition and the most effective way to treat it. A Naturopath’s approach looks at not only the physical aspects but the emotional and metal influences as well.
Naturopathy is comprised of a range of modalities such as nutrition, herbal medicine, iridology and homeopathy. Treatment may include dietary recommendations and/or herbal, nutritional supplements.
Herbal Medicine is the most universal and oldest form of medicine known to man. It is comprised of liquid tincture, teas, creams or tablets. A herbal preparation may contain one or a combination of herb’s prescribed to address a client’s individual health needs. Different herbs affect different body systems and bring about balance in then body. Certain herbs may interact with other medications therefore it is important to make your practitioner aware of any other medications being taken.
Nutrition is of paramount important to everyone’s health and inadequate or inappropriate nutrition can eventually lead to imbalances in the body leading to poor health and disease. Nutrition relates to a healthy diet comprised of foods full of important vitamins and minerals for good health. It also includes good intake of fluids such as water and juices, regular exercise and a positive work and home environment. Poor nutrition may require the need for changes in your diet and lifestyle, nutritional supplements in the form of vitamins, minerals and digestive enzymes.
Homeopathy uses a very precise system of medicine whereby minute doses of a substance is made potent by a special dilution process, so that the medicine is low in concentration but high in energy. Homeopathy in effect, stimulates the body to heal itself. Homeopathic remedies may comprise of either a single homeopathic substance or a combination in one mixture. This may be in the form of liquid, small pills, spray or cream. Homeopathy may be used in acute or chronic conditions both physical and emotional.
Iridology is a diagnostic technique whereby the eyes the reveal areas of weakness and dysfunction in the body. The iris of the eye is comprised of several different zones that correspondence to all the organs and tissues in the body. Different markings, colours and signs may be seen in these zones and these will give your practitioner an understanding of which systems are weak and need attention. The sclera of the eye (the white area) can also display certain signs which can also determine areas of weakness. Iridology does not aim to diagnose but to give awareness of possible health issues.
Other non-invasive tests may be performed in a consultation such as zinc tally test, indican test (bacterial overgrowth in gut), Ph balance, heavy metal test and cellular health analysis.
Cellular Health Analysis (CHA) can accurately measure the biological markers of ageing. In essence CHA measures electrical current changes across limbs, organs and other body sites, which allows us to gather extremely useful information regarding your body composition. The CHA software is able to calculate your - Fat Mass, Muscle Mass, Biological Age (The age you really are!!), Cellular Toxicity, Cellular Fluid Levels and Basal Metabolic Rate.
During a consultation it will be necessary for the client to answer a range of questions regarding your presenting complaint and questions to establish a comprehensive history of your health to best determine treatment protocols.
Your history along with aids such as iridology and the other non-invasive tests will assist in determining the causative factors of your condition and best treatment regime required.
The initial consultation may take up to 1.5 hours and follow up consultations take about 30 mins. The number of follow up consultations depends on each individual and may be more frequent initially where more support is needed.
